What a Dick!

 Nazi's, Pol Pot and gulag's oh my! For those of you you living under a rock these days allow me to refresh your memory. Senator Dick Durbin had the nerve to say the following, "If I read this to you and did not tell you that it was an FBI agent describing what Americans had done to prisoners in their control, you would most certainly believe this must have been done by Nazis, Soviets in their gulags, or some mad regime -- Pol Pot or others -- that had no concern for human beings," Durbin said. 

First you would have to forget that these "human beings" he is talking about are terrorists. Second you would have to believe that any liberal cares more about the rights of US citizens then they do terrorists. Now you must also keep in mind that Dick isn't some freshmen Senator he's the number 2 Democrat in the Senate. Can you imagine if a Republican had such contempt for our men and women in uniform? Typical liberal double standard from the new Massachusetts of the Midwest. Karl Rove said it best when he said, "Conservatives saw the savagery of 9/11 and the attacks and prepared for war. Liberals saw the savagery of the 9/11 attacks and wanted to prepare indictments and offer therapy and understanding to our attackers".

After being hounded by both parties Dick initially wouldn't apologize for his remarks that most certainly are giving comfort to our weakened enemy. The senator issued a statement saying it's the administration that should apologize "for abandoning the Geneva Conventions and authorizing torture techniques that put our troops at risk and make Americans less secure." What a joke! What does a democrat and liberal like Dick know about keeping America safe and secure? That's like a crack addict preaching about good hygiene.

Now June 17th ,Dick tried to clarify the issue. "My statement in the Senate was critical of the policies of this administration, which add to the risk our soldiers face," he said in a statement released Friday afternoon. "I have learned from my statement that historical parallels can be misused and misunderstood. I sincerely regret if what I said caused anyone to misunderstand my true feelings: Our soldiers around the world and their families at home deserve our respect, admiration and total support."

Typical rhetoric from Dick. As he apologizes he insults the Bush administration and tries to pass blame onto them for putting our soldiers at extra risk. You will notice that he says our soldiers deserve respect, admirations and total support, but not from Dick. He espouses hatred of our men and women fighting an enemy under difficult circumstances. Could you imagine if during WW II if all the media reported was civilian casualties and deaths of the troops fighting without mention of us winning the war?

True to the pandering politics of the left Dick's half assed apology shows us his true colors. And they are yellow. He is a shell of a man who has lived fat off the land as a career politician since 1983. He has grown drunk on the lies of the left and spews vile hatred and contempt for the supposed common man who for some reason keep him in power. Dick I'd like to say your days are numbered but Illinois has proven to be a state full of sheep that is all to willing to be led astray by their Sheppard's.
